Dr. Rebecca H. Bauer
Lab Director

Dr. Bauer is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hampden-Sydney College.  She completed her undergraduate degree in 2013 at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah and earned her MA in Psychological Science at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. After her master's, she worked as a Lab Manager for an infant language lab at the University of Tennessee. Then she received her PhD in Developmental Science and Cognitive Psychology with a minor in Statistics from the University of Alabama.

Dr. Bauer's research primarily focuses on creativity, imagination, and self-regulation. Experiences with creativity in childhood can set the foundation for creativity throughout the lifespan. Despite this, research is limited examining creativity for this age group. As such, Dr. Bauer's research focuses on development of creativity, best ways to measure it, and what developmental skills may support development, specifically, imagination, and self-regulation.
